The 3rd Ministerial Meeting of the TPS-OIC Trade Negotiating Committee (TNC) was held in İstanbul on June 10-11 2024, under the chairmanship of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Ömer BOLAT, the Minister of Trade, the Republic of Türkiye. The meeting was attended by the Ministers of Trade and Heads of Delegations of the OIC Member Countries.
On the first day of the Meeting, the Senior Officials discussed the status of implementation of the TPS-OIC Agreements and the activities that can be carried out within the framework of the System in the coming period.
The COMCEC Coordination Office (CCO) and the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT), as the Co-Secretariat of TNC, OIC General Secretariat, relevant OIC institutions, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretariat and other International Organizations also participated in the meeting.
In the meeting, COMCEC Coordination Office made a presentation on the latest developments regarding the status of implementation of the TPS-OIC among the Participating States.
On the other hand, the representatives from the TPS-OIC Participating States made statements on the current status of the implementation of the System in their respective countries. It was underlined that the smooth implementation of the TPS-OIC is a priority for all the Participating States. In the meeting, Member Countries which are not party to the System, were invited to join the TPS-OIC.
